Welcome
At Five Stones Learning Federation we are very proud of our schools, our pupils and their successes. We are an inclusive, caring and vibrant federation putting the individual child at the heart of our schools, ensuring they become successful learners and achieve the highest standards possible. We pride ourselves on our child centred approach getting to know each child individually, working alongside them to help them succeed. As such our schools are happy places.
Your child will spend several years with us and so it is important to begin as we hope to go on. We recognise the fact that, as a parent, you are an essential partner in the educational process and we place great value on the support we receive from parents in so many different ways. In return, we will support your understanding of the education your child is receiving from us by regularly inviting you into school to discuss his or her progress and to keep you up to date on new ideas and initiatives. Teachers provide stimulating experiences that capture children’s imagination, curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. As such we prioritise first hand experiences and have a wide range of visitors into school and external visits to explore new places. There are themed days to enrich the curriculum as well as a whole variety of afterschool and lunch activities.
Reading is at the heart of learning at Five Stones Learning Federation, we are passionate about encouraging our children to read. As part of the DfE English Hub network, phonics and early reading are prioritised and higher level reading skills are developed thereafter. Our aim being that they are well prepared for the next stage of their education. By the time your child is ready to move on to the next phase of education we will have, together, encouraged him or her to have developed a sense of personal value and achievement, and a self-confidence that will carry on to adult life.
I am confident that, by parents, staff and governors working together in partnership, the future holds nothing but the very best for each child.
